In a few minutes, I'll be acquiring information concerning starting my own softball team. :thumb:

Afterward, I'm going to have to replace the filament in our electron gun. I'm told it's tricky.

Oh well.

Time to go!

It only took two hours, but our instrument has a brand new electron gun filament!

Hopefully, that's all it needed, and we can start collecting for real data tomorrow.

It's a poor musician that blames his instrument, yet a scientist doesn't have a problem blaming his equipment :heh:

We'll find out tomorrow whether that was the problem or not. Since the filaments only last six months, and that's about where we are now, it seems like a reasonable conclusion. And even if the filament was still fine, it would need to be replaced soon anyway, so now we don't have to worry about that.

If it still doesn't work, we'll have to look into modifying our method. We're trying something a little different from what's reported in the literature for convenience. We may find, though, that the other group didn't use this convenient method because it didn't work.

Placido Polanco gets hit # 2,000 of his career. A home run.

Shame it was while wearing a damn Phillies uniform.

Tigers should have never let him go.

^^ Agreed. I remember sbee on ESPN went on and on and on about how we had to give this super-duper minor leaguer a shot at second base. I don't even remember what that guy's name was now?!

Sbee knew his baseball but he could be amazingly arrogant and blind sometimes.

Feeling restless. Resting after a trip is only fun for so long then it gets boring.
