I went 40 minutes on the bike at a medium pace because fuck yeah.
I'm pondering doing a light 30-40 min stint on the stationary bike even though I've got a cold.
Google searches seem to indicate that light cardio can help if you are only mildly sick.
Where's Pixie when you need her?
Bump for Pixie.
If it's just a cold, that's fine. Keeping your blood moving a bit quicker isn't a bad idea, but if you do it make sure you drink a lot of water. No guarantee that you'll feel fantastic right after, but could clear out the sinuses and what not. It won't make anything worse (as in it won't make your cold last longer, but you could feel like poo after).
Much appreciated, Hermione. Rep if it will allow.
I've been chugging water during and after my bike ride. Also ate a slice of bread with some smart balance spread on it.
That should be fine. Honestly with a cold there's not anything you should avoid necessarily when it comes to the diet...sadly colds are just a waiting game. For me it's just complain all day, act pathetic, take naps, and nyquil. NYYYYQUILLLL.
Batman and a workout is a good combination. Watching Batman kick butt motivates me.
The Baby Doll episode was on that disk. I had to stop working out to cry.
Told you it was a goodie. They don't make cartoons like they used to.
I've been sucking on cold eeze pills for the first time. I swear they cut down on the duration of my sore throat. It seriously felt like my sore throat was going to be a 2-dayer. I hate those with a passion.
Regarding diet, my sister dislikes the taste of milk during her colds. Is that just because the taste buds get temporarily fucked up?
I had good luck with a combination of Cold Eeze and Airborne a few years ago so I load up on that now when I feel something coming on. Deep down I 'know' it doesn't really do anything, but usually when I get a cold I feel like crap for a few days, and when I took that stuff I was all better the next morning. So because I had a real quick bug one time I now stock up on placebos!
