so... I've been taking my daughter swimming every friday for a few years now, and to get her to be brave off of the diving board, we play this game. I do whatever kind of jump she asks for, and then she has to do whatever i ask for (simple stuff - pencil jump, cannonball, etc).
So a while back, we were playing this game, and then some guy does a backflip off of the board. right away, she said "do THAT, daddy!!". Oh shit. i had never even attempted one before. So I step up to bat, and actually don't kill myself, and land feet first. Surprised me more than anything, but now it's a part of my repertoire.
Ironically, it was the attempt at a back-dive that had me flailing like one-winged duck. Just couldn't seem to time the arc right.
