For what it's worth, I use "in short" often in my nonfiction writing. I tend to write humorous accounts of negative personal experiences, and "in short, I was not pleased," pops up a lot.

I do have a preference for Red and Blue, but as the games go on, they really do get more involved. Breeding is pretty cool, for example, and you can do a lot more with the games because there's so much more going on.
