I don't plan on changing. Aside from getting smarter, that is. I don't want to grow up, either, because I love being super childish and playing whiffle ball when the weather's nice, or playing The Floor is Lava when I have nothing better to do and the weather's crappy outside. It's great.

Besides, I never got bullied, because I was always a nerd who played sports, and who played them decently well. I acknowledge that I can be a little off socially, but the fact that so many people know me and like me at this school suggest that I'm not so awkward that I need to change. In fact, just the opposite.

So don't worry, Clarkson, you'll keep getting my nerdisms for a long time.

Well yes, we're in a constant state of flux, but there are certain core things about us that I believe we are capable of holding onto. For me, I want to cling tightly to my passion for knowledge and learning, my excitement over even the simplest of discoveries, and my childlike energy, even if they can only exist within my mind. I'll change, yes, but I'll fundamentally remain who I am.

I did that to my first relationship. In retrospect, I'm glad I did. She was a great girl, but I couldn't have been with her forever. It was best that it ended when it did, for both of our sakes.

Perhaps you'll find that these sabotages will ultimately serve a positive purpose.
