I hate tests. I hate those pre employment tests more. If I can't pass this test I can't even have my resume put in. If you give me an open ended questions I am going to get it wrong. And do you know why? Because I don't know what you want me to say. I will sit there for 30 minutes and come up with every option I can think of that fits. And I will choose what I think is best. And get it wrong! They don't care what I think is best. They want their answer not mine. So just tell me what to say and I will say it! I've tried 3 times. I'm not trying again today. That just wouldn't go well.:frusty::(

Also! This is to test my intangible skills. If they're intangible how can you test me on them?! Situational is not an option for an answer. If I had a more clearly defined situation and understanding. I wouldn't get it wrong! I just need one more point. I got all the other parts right. I was informed that is the part most people have issues with. Maybe that should be a clue. I think I'm done now.

Well I'll be damned. I managed to pass. I might get an interview tomorrow. The rant still stands.

Well. You all know I'm looking for a job. I've been in FL about a year and the job situation down here isn't the best. I've had interviews and the jobs that would meet my needs haven't come through. So I have a friend who lives in another state make me an offer. So to speak. They said if I looked at jobs up there and saw what I needed they and their family wouldn't be fine with me crashing with them. Until I was able to get on my feet. But. I've never been to that state in my life before. And while I know them I don't know their family. So I would be living with people I'd never met before. I will be the first to admit it's a really stupid idea

But there are reasons I've consider going. And just as many that have held me back. I finally broke down and sent in two applications for jobs I would be perfect for up there. Just to see what would happen. If I do get an answer back. I'm not sure what I would do. But at this point (as stupid as it may seem) I've made up my mind to just go with things and see what happens.

That's a good attitude. What is the other state?

I'm waiting to find out in the next few days if my job gets extended another 4 months. I can't decided if I want to keep working there or would enjoy a couple months off and some time to find a better job more in my field of work.

Hang in there, Cricket. Tough times out there.

that's the right move to apply, anyways. there's no harm in increasing your options, even if they are on the Plan B side of things.

The great state of Virgina. Which would be fun if it happens. I've never lived in a place where it snows before.

It doesn't snow too often in Virginia, but every now and then. Depends where in Virginia you are talking about. I've lived in a couple different places there if you want a little more info. What city?

Northern VA. Not to far from DC I believe. It snowed last winter. And the winter before that. When snow falls I'm use to everything shutting down. And also all the bread and milk being gone from every grocery store within a 50 mile radius.

I won't lie, snow is fun for about 2 seconds and then it just sucks. Unless you're a little kid and get off from school and can play in it. But yeah where I live we get a bad snow storm maybe twice a year so I'd imagine Virginia isn't too bad.

Schools shut down with 2 inches of snow. It isn't bad, they just don't know how to deal with it

I hope your not being serious.

And the thought of having to learn to drive in snow isn't something I'm overly fond of.

I'm only being serious about how it is dealt with. People don't know how to deal with it. Like i said, snow isn't usually bad, but the people don't know how to deal with it and schools shut down with minimal snow.

Northern VA is a pretty nice place, especially if you are in your 20s. Lots of great restaurants/bars there, good mass transit options, and they have a great network of bike trails (if you're into that at all). On the downside, you'll have to pay a bit more to see your Lightning play. ;)

As to snow, yeah, stuff shuts down here for a day with several inches, but I don't know why people mind that. Who doesn't love a snow day?

I'm down with snow days. And that is indeed my age range. So if I do end up there maybe it won't be so bad. I guess I'll just have to see what happens. And I don't mind paying more if I have a job so I can pay for it.
