Don't know how much you've been following, but the Chiefs won again tonight Brian.

Watched Inception for the fifth time. Brain loaded. Going to bed. Either to dream or to wake up...not sure which. Goodnight, projections.

FUNNY STORY I JUST THOUGHT OF!

Well, sort of funny.

Probably one of those "you had to be there" stories...

Whatever, I'm telling it.

So, my girlfriend and I have been friends since we were freshmen in college. I sat in front of her for a few weeks in the first Chemistry class I took. Our first major encounter, though, happened on a snow tubing trip. When I say major encounter, I do not mean romantic (as you'll soon see), as I had a girlfriend at the time, and we didn't even consider dating until last spring, over two years after the incident I'm about to tell.

So I was going doing down the hill with seven of my friends. We formed a huge chain. (It was actually because of our trip that the rule was made at that place that you could not send more that two people down in a chain at once.) I was in front because I was the heaviest, and we thought that would give the best speed. My now-girlfriend was in the lane to our right, going down the hill with four of her own friends. They went first.

About halfway down the hill, I lost my grip on the tubes behind me and got separated from the pack. I actually ended up way ahead of them. Meanwhile, my now-girlfriend's group had reached the bottom, and she got separated form them, went up the ramp at the end of the lane, and came back down into our lane. I saw her just too late, and couldn't slow down. She saw me way too late and couldn't escape. Despite my best effort to bail, I ran face-first into her shoulder. I toppled over top of her and my tube flipped up on me, and hers on her. Then my seven friends arrived. I rolled over twice as they as all seven of them ran over some part of my body.

Once the ordeal had passed, I asked her if she was alright, and she was, fortunately. I was as well, at least mostly. When I got to the lift to take me back up the hill, a little girl, no older than ten, pointed at me and said, "Your nose is bleeding, Mr." It was adorable in a sense, the way she said it, but how right she was was significantly less adorable. I had a nice-sized gash on the bridge of my nose, and there was definitely some blood.

Anyway, the point of the story is that a little over two years before I started dating my girlfriend, I ran face-first into her shoulder at about 35 MPH. Interesting how these things work, isn't it?

EDIT: And then I found $20. (Just in case.)

Also, "sacapuntas" is my favorite Spanish word. I just thought you folks should know.

Good news: i went out last night instead of staying home and watching the Habs game.

Bad news: Since they were playing the Capitals the bar where I was at had the game on multiple TVs.
