OT - I need a ruling... is this racist?

I finally asked her why she couldn't tell me and Kate apart and she said all white people look the same to her.

I'm pretty sure they've done studies on this and generally people have a harder time differentiating the identities of people who are not from the race they predominantly grew up around. So if you grew up in a Hispanic neighborhood, blacks and whites might be harder to differentiate for you. It's usually about what you grew up around. I read this years ago though, so I can't give a... link?
