Night. I'll dig up his revolutionary etude. He was pissed about Russians invading his native Poland when he wrote it.

The ending is purposefully left hanging...it was Chopin's way of saying, "It ain't over yet, you fucking Russians."

Also...you have to have a left hand of steel to play this etude.

I'm learning 5 of his shorter pieces for piano right now. Schubert's my most favorite composer right after Beethoven.

This might be a little out of your "taste", but check out Mondo Cane on youtube. It is my all time music idol doing classical pieces in Italian. Pretty bad ass.

edit: Not really classical Italian pieces, 50's and 60's pop music recreations with a full orchestra.

Classical music is da bomb. It's stuck around and remained relevant for hundreds of years, despite not having an actual recording. I honestly don't think too many songs from other genres would have any relevancy 300 years from now if all you had to go by was sheet music and no physical recording.

I'd give my left nut to have one single recording of Beethoven playing one of his own sonatas.

I suppose that Beethoven, too, would have liked to have heard his own music.
