OT Gas Prices

The marketers even warned months ago that prices would be climbing into the 3.00-4.00 range months before any middle east strife started.

That's some Nostradomus shit right there.

I own 3 vehicles and may end up trading 2 of them for a hybrid or something more fuel efficient. 07 Camry 4cyl is great on gas, my other 2 (99 4runner v6 & 2001 F-250 SD) are insane at the pumps.

My car requires premium or it gets bitchy. Fortunately for me it gets 30/gallon and I live 3 miles from work. So I fill up every 3 weeks. I dread the day it's time to replace it. Especially since I can't get me a Diesel Electric hybrid Golf like the Euros get.

We have a grocery store here that gives discounts on gas based on how much you spend on groceries. So general shopping for the fam usually gets me 80 cents off per gallon. PLus if you buy Gift Cards for other stores, you get double the discount. Remodeled my bathroom with Home Depot gift cards and didn't pay for gas for 2 months.

Yeah, and no single country produces so much oil that even a complete stop in production/supply from one country should change the price that much. In the U.S., Libya is less than 1% of our oil imports. We get 42x as much oil from Canada!

I think my next car might be an electric one if the price comes down just a little. C'mon rich people - pay off the R&D so the masses can buy in!
