Okay, baseball talk. I was gonna go to the I'm Bored thread, but this is too awesome (in my opinion). Next Monday, July 25th, the Pittsburgh Pirates will playing a game on national television. So. Freaking. Awesome.

Welcome to the MLB red headed step child of Pennsylvania. I'm sure this is very exciting. 2007 was extremely exciting for me since it was the first time I was old enough to appreciate playoff excitement.

Ughhh, freaking NL East. That's a rough stretch. Really need pitching to stay strong.

It's more annoying because all ESPN does is show the Yanks and Sox. Again, and again, and again. And yeah, I'll hold out hope for the postseason, but really, I'm just excited that there's meaningful baseball this late in the season. Hopefully the run will continue.

And dang, the game intro tonight (though it's probably gonna be rained out, even though theres still a good looking crowd) these words were said: "as the playoff race begins"

I have been saying this for the past 10-12 years. I'm not asking to make the playoffs yet, but play games that actually mean something come August and September.

Didn't they have a nationally televised game last season...for Strasburg's first start?

I think ESPN just looked in on it occasionally. Pretty sure anyway. And it wasn't an ESPN broadcast, just jacked the Nats cast.

I just hope they perform well against the freaking Braves. That could be really embarassing. Man.

I'm pretty sure they showed the whole game. I remember discussing it in the original I'm bored.

Sure, I was only about 2 years old, but I hate the Braves. Fracking Bream.

Yes it was Dash....and since I'm old....I remember sitting in a bar....I still remember the stool I was in....watching that game...and discussing my World Series plans with my buddies....what a crushing defeat...it was worse than the Volek goal....

Jimmy, i was in the Townhouse (lol) with my girlfriend at the time. I was sick for 3 days after that.

I still blame Leyland for not bringing in Bob Patterson to start the 9th inning. Was one of the top left-handed relievers facing lefties in baseball that season.

Amen, Steve....Leyland had a bad habit of coaching with is heart instead of his mind...Belinda was Leyland's boy and he stuck with him too long....and it cost him (and us)....
