You get what you can. And I'd bet you'd get a 2nd rounder for him still from a team who thinks he can be good (and he does have a chance, but he's not as good as he's been advertised).

I'd trade Luck for a ton of first rounders, get Bradford an elite LT a #1 WR and some D. Luck isn't going to magically make that team good. He is getting overhyped right now. You seen what speed like Oregons did to him.

Exactly. Luck gets you the players to surround Bradford and maximize what he can do.

In that case, someone should tell Carolina to trade Cam for a bunch of draft picks to surround Claussen with.

Since Cassel took the Patriots to an 11-5 record, the Pats should have proceeded to trade Brady (since he has more value) for a bunch of pieces to surround Cassel with.

Let's be real, that's a ridiculous notion. You take the best player and trade off the leftovers every single time.

This assumes that you think Bradford is good.

Keep in mind, McDaniels made Orton look like an all-pro. Bradford is awful.

Luck hasn't proven anything yet. Those are 2 rediculous statements of a man with no real argument. Luck is a college QB who has proved nothing, and that hasn't looked like the greatest thing since sliced bread this year. Bradford proved last year he was on his way to being a good QB with 0 weapons and 0 o-line. Claussen proved he stunk so if Carolina had the #1 I would expect them to trade it and keep Cam as well.

Bradford has no WR's and no O-line.

I fully buy the Luck hype. I'd take less value and get rid of Bradford given the choice..

So you'd take Luck and the Rams current roster over Bradford, say Justin Blackmon, an elite LT plus more picks? Not a chance.

Orton's top receiver was Brandon Lloyd. He plays for the Rams now - It's not helping.

And that horrible offensive line is paving the way for Steven Jackson's best YPC since his rookie year.

Are you just making things up?

yup. I would. I think any trade will just involve draft picks (no elite LT) but yeah, given the choice between a slew of extra picks and Andrew Luck I take Luck every time. then I'd try to parlay Bradford into some additional picks.

Bradford isn't going to get many because of the mass amount of money he is still owed. STL can't afford the cap hit. If you put Luck out there with those weapons and that O-Line he isn't going to be any better. And with no picks gotten from a trade and no money to sign anyone because of Bradfords contract you are stuck. Then you have a QB controversy and the team falls apart. Luck looked pedestrian against the speed of Oregon. What happens in the NFL?

IMO, at this point in time the Luck hype is more valuable than the actual player. You trade that hyped #1 pick value by getting a plethora of quality picks in return.

There isn't Dan. I do think there is a chance they trade him though if Old Pollian is still in charge and Manning is going to come back and play.

You can make that case for any player in the draft. While Luck's hype is greater than a typical player, nobody has proven themselves. That said, Luck's potential is impossible to pass up. Just can't do it, regardless of the hype. It would be like Cleveland passing up on Lebron because his hype was WAY more than the actual player. It's a foolish decision to make.
