Don't believe Russell Wilson was a top 5 pick. I guess they do nothing then.
Seattle wins because of their defense and running game. Wilson just has to not screw up and they win games. Using a third round find as proof Dallas needs to do something isn't a very strong case. Wilson's success is an outlier in terms of draft order.

I'm using your terms of top 5 pick as a starting point, and with that only 13 of 32 starting QBs were top 5 picks

But 21 were 1st rounds picks (if counting Manziel)

And 5 2nd rounders, 4 3rd rounders (If counting Mallett & McCown), 2 6th rounders and 2 Undrafted FAs (Romo & if counting Hoyer)

So 34 QBs, and only 13 were top 5 picks, meaning you can find starting caliber QBs outside the top 5, and that WIlson is a bit more than an outlier

Also Weedon was a 1st rounder and Cassel was a 7th rounder, but didn't include them bc its clear who would start if Romo was in there

Hey, you're right. I was being myopic and reactionary in my thinking. But there are maybe 10 worthy QBs in the NFL that you would want. It's a hard position and taking the right QB is more important than just drafting one to draft. As I am sure Redskins would agree.

The statement made me curious, so I decided to see what the numbers were, not really out to prove you wrong

So you're saying its hard to find a smart, accurate and strong armed QB in this league?

Why would the Giants not run more clock off. Did they not learn anything from the Cowboys game.

Seems like a crapshoot to me. Teams feel the pressure to take a QB so they end up with a Sam Bradford or Mark Sanchez while their counterparts take a guy like Rodgers later in the first round and he sits for years and then is amazing.

Bradford isn't a bad QB, actually been pretty good (outside of this year), but injuries have done him in

He's absolutely mediocre in every way even without the injuries. I would be pretty upset if I spent a number one overall pick on the guy and that's what I got.

But I am sure Stephen Jones will probably draft a QB at some point. Just hope it's someone that works out.

Disagree about Bradford, I'll leave it at that

Does anyone think the Cowboys have a good shot at a win? The saints are pretty bad at 0-3

Of course I love the Cowboys too but I just don't even care if they win or lose today because Texas took care of business and got the west.
