I think Sumlin is a hell of a coach overall but I think it just goes to show how special Manziel was. He made the Aggies relevant again after 2 decades. Amazing what that kid alone has done for that university.

I don't know what to make of Sumlin at this point.

Did you see end of their game with LA Monroe? Absolutely the worst play calling I've seen all season from anyone on their last possession.

Yeah I saw that, seen as a bad move by most fans

But that series was replaced by Clemson, so its not like they put Rice or SMU in there

So its not an "and then", simply replaced with Clemson

I haven't heard any reason as to the canceling of the series, but I'm also not going to guess as to why, the truth will come out, and I'll accept it either way.

If I were any school in Texas - or OU either for that matter - I wouldn't schedule a game with Oregon for shit. Notre Dame either.

Why give them a further foothold in recruiting?

You're not ducking anyone. Plenty of decent/good teams around to schedule without playing a powerhouse from thousands of miles away who are raiding the territory anyway.

From what I've heard its an effort to garner a stronger foothold in the Georgia/Carolinas backyard by switching to Clemson

I was not a fan of former Rutgers and Tampa HC Greg Schiano.

But on SI's web site there is a really terrific article on him by Pete Thamel.

Now if fact, I hope he gets his chance for a head gig next year.

I share in that flaw, only a few teams I dislike as much as ND

My younger brother and sister are ASU alums and living 6 years in Scottsdale I root for the Devils, but especially today vs the Irish

Hope the Aggies keep it up against Auburn too
