OT: Coke Zero

Rum is horrible... For some reason the taste makes me sick, always has.

Same here. When I was younger, my parents were always rum 'n coke drinkers and they never had to worry about me or my brothers stealing their booze because we all disliked rum. I don't mind it with eggnog at Christmas, but thats about it.

Actually, I find all alcoholic drinks with coke or pepsi to be gross. I don't know how anybody can consume mixed drinks with cola in all night long. That much syrup would make me sick. That's why my drink of choice was always rye 'n ginger. I guess there is syrup in ginger ale too, but at least you can't taste it and feel it rotting in your gut the way you do with coke or pepsi

I usually do a "splash" of ginger in all my hard liquor. I mostly do whiskey though. I agree though, usially all that sugar is what gives you a hangover.

Rum and pepsi just tastes weird. I drank A LOT of rum and coke (insane amount) while teaching at a boarding school. If you didn't have a jug of Appleton's ready when the faculty came over (unannounced) you had to pick up the next tab at Hoagies.

Great Choice. Dark rum is the way to go and Appleton's tops my chart for affordable rum. None of that Capt. Morgan crap..
