I think somebody had a post a few months back but I can't find it. I'm heading to Chicago end of May, what are some good places to eat, see, be entertained, etc. In terms of food I'm looking more for Man vs Food, artery clogging stuff as opposed to $50+ steaks. Going to Wrigley for the Cubs/White Sox Saturday night so if there are any good bars/restaurants around there I'm all for it. Thanks in advance.

A few suggestions:

If you like Man vs. Food food, the restaurant he went to in Chicago is Lucky's, which is in the heart of Wrigleyville. I love the $5 Jumbo Slice and Soda at Bacci Pizza (right next to the Addison El stop). Vines on Clark is pretty good and I like Yak-zees as well. There are several famous Wrigleyville bars. I think Murphy's Bleachers probably has the best atmosphere. The Cubby Bear and SportsCorner are nice as well. You really can't go wrong with any of the bars around there. It's a great atmosphere.

For overall food, the best hot dog places are Hot Doug's and Weiner Circle, though Wrigleysville Dogs makes a pretty good one right near Wrigley Field. For pizza, I like Giordano's the best (this is stuffed, not pure deep dish), but you can't go wrong with any of the classics. Here's a decent list of the best pizzas, though i'd stick to Deep Dish or Stuffed. Downtown, Blackbird's lunch menu is the best value in the city. It is a really high end restaurant, but the lunch is $20 for three courses at a Michelin starred restaurant. The French Market is a great place to eat with a ton of good foods. Xoco is the most cost effective way to eat Rick Bayless' famous Mexican food. Greektown isn't far away and the deserts are great many places there (best being Artopolis, though). I'm missing a ton of places that I love, but this should be a start.

So I'm heading back to Chicago on Friday and staying for the weekend. Last time we did the touristy stuff, Millenium Park, Sears/Willis Tower, boat tour Wrigleyville. Anybody have some good outside the box or under the radar things to do that could kill an hour or 2? We may check out Second City the comedy place.
