B.C. Lions’ defensive lineman Sione Teuhema has been suspended two games for violating the CFL’s drug policy after testing positive for Amfetamine.

The 29-year-old native of Keller, Texas made 36 defensive tackles, two special teams tackles, and seven sacks over 18 regular season games in 2024. He was a full-time starter at defensive end and remains under contract with the Lions for 2025.

Under the league’s drug policy, players who test positive for a banned substance or fail to provide a sample receive a two-game suspension for a first violation, a nine-game suspension for a second violation, a one-year suspension for a third violation, and a lifetime ban for a fourth violation.

The Edmonton Elks have acquired the rights to veteran quarterback Cody Fajardo from the Montreal Alouettes in exchange for the rights to quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson, it was announced Tuesday.

The Calgary Stampeders have signed Canadian receiver Jalen Philpot to a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the team through 2026.

According to a report from TSN’s Farhan Lalji, Philpot will earn $185,000 in hard money next season and $190,000 in 2026, plus possible all-star incentives.

“A key to our growth as a team will be the continued development of our talented young players and Jalen definitely fits that description,” Stampeders general manager and head coach Dave Dickenson said in a statement. “We’re glad to bring him back and look forward to watching him take the next step in his career progression.”
