what are the rules for grounding in the cfl? if any....

Pretty much the same as the NFL - The QB has to get the ball at least to the line of scrimmage and there does need to be an eligible receiver in the vicinity. You can toss it way out of bounds as well as long as you throw it past the line of scrimmage.
