McIlroy with an incredible day. I wish I could have got up early enough to see it.

Pretty impressive round by Rory. Might be enough to inspire me to sniff 6 over in league this afternoon...:D

Hey dash, did you guys get the full coverage, with the opening group teeing off around 10:30 last night? SportsCenter provided some bonus coverage of it last night here in the States.

I think TSN had some coverage starting at 1 o'clock in the morning Pacific time this morning (Thursday) and plan to do the same thing Friday morning.

Yeah, ESPN had the same, save that bonus coverage of the opening group. Found it really weird watching a major on a Wednesday night.

Dang! First we had a thread about soccer, now a thread on the second-most boring game to watch on the planet? What's next? Curling?

You got me there, keny. I've never even played golf. Nor soccer, nor curling. :)

Not trying to be negative, just find sports that a person participates in are usually more interesting to that person. I play golf in a league every Thursday, I do enjoy watching and discussing the Majors, that's about it.

I didn't think you were being negative. For the record, the only sport I've played was little league baseball (batted over .500 in my last year) but I've never been on skates once my whole life. And yet, I enjoy baseball and hockey about the same.

I just don't find golf as being a sport. An art maybe, but a sport? Swing...curse...walk, walk, walk...swing again and repeat. As much action as soccer.:) I know I'm in the minority in this, but it bores me to tears.

Golf is probably my favorite sport to play just b/c the competitive challenge is you vs. yourself on your own best day. It's not physical, but the athleticism is absolutely there. I enjoy watching it on TV much more since the advent of HD television. Just the beauty of the courses alone is worth tuning in for. But again... much easier to appreciate if you play, understand the challenges, and also appreciate how beautiful these courses are compared with the munis and regular courses most of us slog across from week-to-week.

My avatar is lurking in the weeds. With his putter, look out. ESPN sucks balls BTW in their coverage. In the first hour today they showed 5 golf shots....FIVE!!!! Also I have seen every one of golden boys shots and his playing partner, you know the 2 time US Open winner (my avatar) was shown like twice. Screw Disney. Give it back to TNT.

you may not like Disney's coverage, but I really like Rick Reilly. Have ever since he took the spot on the back page of SI.
