Baseball players don't grab jerseys like hockey players. In a way, I think the way hockey players fight makes them pussies. Trying to pull the jersey over the other guys head and then punching him when he's defenseless? That''s a pussy move. If Gregg hadn't ducked back when he did, Papi lands a left uppercut that sends Gregg to the moon.

has it been a long time since you've been in a hockey fight Wayne? you realize that you grab a jersey so that the other guy can't wind up with haymakers, right? the point is..... at least they stand toe to toe in hockey (except for Cooke).
I'm not a Papi / BoSox hater fwiw, it just struck me as odd that Ortiz is sucha big intimidating presence, and the "fight" was so lame.

Maybe the next time the fat fuck hits a home run he won't stand at the plate and admire it. And maybe he should learn how to run out a pop up.

And if baseball players want to fight, it should be a one on one thing. Everyone stand back and let the pitcher and hitter go. Then we would see how tough they think they are. No relief pitchers and bullpen catchers running in from 400 feet away, and no 60 year old men wearing cleats coming from the dugout.

Did you see when one of your pitchers threw behind the Pirates catcher twice 2 weeks ago? Im assuming no, it happened because that midget Pedroia got hit by a pitch. Its part of baseball.

I did miss that game. I don't watch any inter-league games as I don't agree with them. And it seems the circumstances are different, right? The Sox pitcher threw behind the Pirates player AFTER Pedroia got hit, right? Papi got thrown at THREE STRAIGHT PITCHES simply because the sox were winning big!!!!! And seeing how you like using terms like "fat fuck" and "midget" I guess I'm free to use the term "that whining, pussy" Crosby right?

lol i know it is man. I'm just fucking with you. The way Pedroia behaved in that Pirate game made me lose a ton of respect for him.

I went back and looked at the box score, he wasn't even hit. They threw one at him after a Pirate was hit. He went to the dugout and ranted and raved. The pirate pitcher came to bat the next inning and they didn't throw at him. 2 innings later the Pirates catcher was thrown at in his major league debut.

Sox should have thrown one at the pitcher and it would have been over.

Oh well.

Players of today crowd the plate giving the pitcher very little room. Guys like I mentioned above considered the inside part of the plate their domain. If a guy got to close he got brushed back. If he got close again he'd get hit. Ask Robbie Alomar about Nolan Ryan.

The only difference between Ortiz & every other player in Baseball is he CAN'T play the field. I've never liked the DH & never will. It takes away a lot of the strategy involved in baseball. Besides the DH gives pitchers a free pass to hit guys. If an NL pitcher hits a guy he's got to face the music himself. Which makes things even more interesting.

That's the 1 thing I hate about the DH. Pitchers know they don't have to step in the batters box when they throw at someone. Like I said, establishing the inside part of the plate is one thing, throwing AT someone is another. I always respected Hideki Nomo who would bow in apology when he accidentally hit someone.
