Maybe the next time the fat fuck hits a home run he won't stand at the plate and admire it. And maybe he should learn how to run out a pop up.

And if baseball players want to fight, it should be a one on one thing. Everyone stand back and let the pitcher and hitter go. Then we would see how tough they think they are. No relief pitchers and bullpen catchers running in from 400 feet away, and no 60 year old men wearing cleats coming from the dugout.

Thanks for the objective view Eloco. That's exactly what happened, but unfortunately, the haters will talk shit when it's not their team involved. I can't wait until Detroit, Pittsburgh, or any other team with fans here has it happen to them. I'll have a field day.

Did you see when one of your pitchers threw behind the Pirates catcher twice 2 weeks ago? Im assuming no, it happened because that midget Pedroia got hit by a pitch. Its part of baseball.

So feel free to start having your field day wayne...

Who is to say when a pitcher works on his game?

"Oh...it's 10-3....time to start air mailing fastballs straight down broadway! Don't want to piss anybody off here while I work on my game. God Forbid!"

Whatever.

Go Phils.

I guess what it boils down to is imo I dont think he was "working on his game" throwing those 3 inside pitches that he did ... if he truly was then maybe he should be doing that in the minors ... i think he was trying to hit him
who said anything about mailing fastballs or grooving shit to hitters ... work the plate and throw strikes with the game out of hand like that ... let your fielders do the work

To me, Greggs post game "if I dont throw inside, I am gonna get my ass beat" (paraphrasing) statement came across like the NHL'er who blatantly head shots someone saying "if I dont finish finish my checks, Im outta the league"

How the fuck could one possibly miss hitting Ortiz THREE times?

That reminds me...I have to go throw another dart at a certain umpire's picture on the wall. Be right back.

I miss the bullpen car that relief pitchers used to ride in from the outfield...

I've always been a Bo-Sox "fan". By "fan" I mean, I'm on their side of the Yankee/Red Sox rivalry, and I was pumped when they finally won, and I own their hat, etc. That said, they act like people are coming after them a LOT. I feel like they get involved in these things far more often than other teams. When Pedroia got all pissy that he got hit in the Pirates series I just laughed. Are you serious Dustin? The world's not out to get you. Sometimes, against good hitters, pitchers have to try to paint the inside corner, and sometimes you miss. That said, this particular one should've never happened. The pitcher shouldn't have left the mound, and Papi shouldn't have admired a pop up and play the freaking game.

What I find to be funny is that Reddick could have scored easily, but instead tagged up and made a b-line for the scrum. Costing Ortiz a RBI, just funny... baseball is so lame, I still enjoy it live, but meh.

With Papi's big belly, it's hard NOT to throw inside. Gravity's pull and all.

Apparently the pitcher said "Run it out, fat ass".

New favorite Oriole player. :)

LOL, funny. I also liked Wieters taking the throw from Jones then running over and pushing Ortiz.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. You'll get no argument from me that the Orioles are anything but awful.

Papi is still a pussy though. And fat.

He isn't as thin and in good shape as the Orioles players like Gregg.

Bullshit!!! Establishing the inside part of the plate and throwing at a batter are 2 completely different things. The last pitch was almost a foot off the plate!!!

What part of this is hard to understand? The 2nd pitch was trying to establish the inside part of the plate. The 1st and 3rd pitches were thrown AT Papi!!! You notice they wait until Beckett is out of the game before "establishing" the inside part of the plate. Gregg is a pussy. He throws at Papi knowing HE doesn't have to stand in the batters box. I expect round 2 tonight when the Sox pitchers "establish" the inside of the plate also.

Baseball players don't grab jerseys like hockey players. In a way, I think the way hockey players fight makes them pussies. Trying to pull the jersey over the other guys head and then punching him when he's defenseless? That''s a pussy move. If Gregg hadn't ducked back when he did, Papi lands a left uppercut that sends Gregg to the moon.
has it been a long time since you've been in a hockey fight Wayne? you realize that you grab a jersey so that the other guy can't wind up with haymakers, right? the point is..... at least they stand toe to toe in hockey (except for Cooke).
I'm not a Papi / BoSox hater fwiw, it just struck me as odd that Ortiz is sucha big intimidating presence, and the "fight" was so lame.
Apparently the pitcher said "Run it out, fat ass".
Ok, now THAT is funny

So you're saying Pittsburgh pitchers NEVER throw at anyone? The unwritten rule of baseball is you hit one of ours, we hit one of yours, and it should end there. And that "midget" Pedroia is better than anyone the Pirates have at the moment.

The guy that hit him, I'm 99% sure, was McDonald. Trust me...it was NOT intentional. He's one of the least controlled pitchers we have. Just look at his stats, I'm sure you'll see plenty of walks. And it was still a good baseball game when that happened, why would you intentionally hit a player and give them a base? If he reacts that way everytime he gets hit, he has a long career ahead of him.
