Is Barry Zito a good hitter or did it just so happen that it was his turn in the rotation? Are they chalking the games against Verlander up as a loss and deciding not to waste one of their go to guys against him?

Zito was lights out in his last start, plus they don't want to start off the series with pitchers on short rest.

If Zito or Bum struggle in the first two games look for Lincecum to come come out of the bullpen.

I won't be around during the game. Hubby had surgery yesterday and is still in the hospital. He's fine, he's coming home tomorrow, but I'll be at the hospital with him watching most of the game tonight.
