LOL. Seriously, I don't know why he tried to basketcatch that and even if he did, he seemed so relaxed about it. Strange play. But congrats Tigers! They are in good shape right now.

Let's go Beltway Series! :)

Sorry, not this year. Think 2006. Revenge is a dish well served cold.

You've got to earn your dues and taste some playoff defeat first.
We have, its our turn to to win first dammit!!!

GO TIGERS!!!

RAWR!

;)

That was bizarre. Ichiro has to be part octopus.

Felt bad for Weiters, all he had to do was stay upright and block the line. The fact that he dove caught him out when Ichiro went invisible for that split second.

I was also scared to death for Hardy. That baserunning goof up would have been so magnified if they lost.

Nice recovery by #43, though.

I don't know, if Ichiro ran that far out of the baseline as it happened, do you think he would have stayed closer if Wieters had blocked the line? Perhaps Wieters could have adjusted better if he had not dove, but it looks to me that if he doesn't dive Ichiro scores more easily.
Buck was right, it looks to me like Ichiro went outside the base path and should have been called out - by rule. However its another aspect of the game where the umpires often ignore the rule book. So I am not surprised or bothered it was not called. I'm glad they won because that and the Hardy play would have bothered me otherwise.

Shocked the O's pulled that one off. 2 critical mistakes, that Ichiro debacle and then when the runner held even though the 3rd base coach was giving him the green light. Those are 2 runs they gave up. They got lucky it didn't cost them but you can't make those types of mistakes against the Yankees and get away with it very often.

I agree, all in all I don't think the Orioles have played very well (starting pitching not included) and they are tied in the series. I'll take it.

I guess I was looking at it as the throw was so dead on if Weiters was on the base line to receive it, he wouldn't have had to lunge. I guess he was a little far away now that I look closer.

And it was totally out of the running line. But I don't know if I've ever seen that called at home plate. By the rule, he was out.

And the Hardy play had the potential to really hurt. Kinda gotta give A-Fraud credit for the trickery, though. Hardy thought he was gonna get beaned.

I find myself rooting for the Tigers to make the ALCS and Reds to make the WS. So if the Orioles continue to do well, it is a short drive for me to see them.

You know what, I don't care about revenge. I want the Tigers to play the Reds in the WS, that way I can go to another game. So, fuck the Cardinals.
