Saw that too. Prettttty nice come back there.

But as much as I love O&A, the OJ case is what really tore their family apart because they were against him. Kind of an unintentional low blow.

It makes your stomach sick to know that she got away with it...

I just read up on this and am generally shocked. it could very well be that the poor girl died accidentally in the pool but for her Mom to act like she did while she was missing is so disgusting and sad. To have the baby girl found like she was and all the mis information from the family is truly disgusting. We may never know the truth on this. For all we know the Mom drowned her in the pool. She seems so fucking evil to me for the way she acted when she knew she was missing.

All their lives are going to be very tough and lonely going forward but its not enough. not near enough for the poor girl

lol...Not angry at all, just call 'em like I see 'em. Maybe in the future, you should hover that finger of yours a little longer over the 'Submit' button and think about whether or not you truly want to send a post of questionable nature for people to review. Lastly, if my don't like my posts, add me to your ignore list and/or report my posts to a moderator of this board.

/By the way, here's the thread detailing your observations of Kipper's performance that night against the Kings (he was so bad he forced the Kings to a shootout after saving 25 of 26 shots in regulation plus 5 minutes of overtime)

THIS! Why the fuck can people understand its the prosecutors job to get rid of any reasonable doubt? I'm so fucking sick of everyone blaming the legal system whenever someone gets acquitted. If the police AND prosecutors did their fucking jobs it would happen less.

But why wasn't she convicted of anything like child neglect or abuse. Maybe you can't prove she killed the baby. But not reporting her missing for a month (and even then she was forced to do so by her mom)? That's clearly neglectful/abusive parenting.

Not if the child is dead.

I'm gonna preface this post by saying that I have not been following this case closely at all. I heard a bit about this story a while back and forgot all about it and until today I didn't even realize the trial was going on nor would I have had a sweet fucking clue what the accused name was.

But based on comments and articles I've read today, I don't see anything wrong with the system nor the jury's verdict. The problem lies with the prosecution who tried to charge her with murder. Do I believe this girl was a horrible mother and is a horrible human being? Yes! Do I believe not only she but also any girl who would let her within 100 feet of their child should all be forced to have their tubes tied? Yes! Do I believe she was responsible for her daughter's death 1 way or another? Absolutely?

Do I believe she committed 1st degree murder of her own child? I have no idea. And when I say that I don't mean from a juror's perspective where "beyond reasonable doubt" comes into play. I mean if I was responding to a poll question that asked what my gut tells me, that would be my answer. If the charge was manslaughter then I might be inclined to lean more towards guilty, but assuming that a young girl successfully plotted to kill her own baby is quite a leap without any hard evidence, no matter how messed up the girl seems to be. If there is a strong reason as to why I should believe this girl committed 1st degree murder, I have yet to see it.

The real problem with the system would have been if a few bleeding hearts heard the tragic story of a deceased toddler and felt the need to punish someone as severely as possible without knowing all the facts and as a result this girl was put to death. And I'm not entirely opposed to the death penalty when appropriate.

Just my 2 cents....

Exactly.

They expected a jury to give her the death penalty with circumstantial evidence. The prosecution made the mistake of listening to the media & the mob mentality of the people in Orlando regarding this case. If they had chargerd here with manslaughter it would have been a 6 person jury & their chances of a conviction would have been much better.

the reply: @elibraden: ME TOO!! ITS LIKE WHEN YOUR DAD HELPED GET O.J. OFF!!

That's fucking brilliant.

A few things I heard today:
-Audio clips from a couple jurors who said that nearly all of them were in tears in the jury room, but that the evidence was just not there to convict her.
-A pron company had offered her a contract to shoot a movie and pulled it after negative reactions. You know your Q-rating is low when a pron company won't even touch you.

Also, a couple of you mentioned they should have gone after her for manslaughter instead of first degree murder. I'm pretty sure the jury deliberated on those charges in the alternative and found her not guilty of that as well, so that possibility was explored to the best of my knowledge. The degree of murder goes completely to intent, but since the sticking point seems to have been the "cause" of the death, it makes it difficult for a jury to even get to that calculation in the process because they couldn't conclude the death was even from intent or negligence on anyone's part, much less a specific individual.

Clearly you cant see that I was sarcastically generalizing, but now that you bring it up... Yes, people from that region are bleeding hearts and try and find ways to protect people from circumstances they should face.

As for me saying "I'm not Mexican", I'm not, thankfully... How is that classless?

This is another trial of the century that I missed. I only read about it after the verdict and only then because a lot of people were having a fit.
From everything I read I do not think they proved that she killed her daughter. They proved she lied, they proved she acted irrationally, but not that she killed her IMO so I understand the verdict.
People are murdered and go missing all the time and because the victim was a little blondish girl with a relatively attractive mother charged then all the sudden its the trial of the century.
Now, I am going to look for Natalee Holloway. Be back later.

This trial is one of a million like it. Sadly. Don't understand how the media chooses what we get fired up over. I'm disgusted that she got away with it and that common sense is many times left behind because of the system, but that's just the way it is. However, I think the media should get the freak out of these things, because they DON'T help one way or another. Seriously. They cause the prosecution to take a different angle, they sway jurors, etc. Just keep the cameras away, and let people do their job.
