I have no problem with you posting it, it just seems like people whining to me. Not very interesting. To me at least.

1. Don't dumb down the board. If you can't chat with the big guys, go back to the Mickey Mouse Club.

Would'nt some people just throwing names back and forth in a GNT be dumbing down the board? Or is repeated name calling 'big guy' stuff?

You have overstepped your mandate, and you know it. You just fail to realize it.

Get rid of spammers, and obvious trolling. After that, read a book or something. No need to babysit.

I am pretty sure Ghost made it clear that we were allowed to mod this board differently than the other boards.
It was discussed when we came over here and if it was not for that fact, some of us may not have made the move.

As far as I am concerned, it is far from suspension worthy. If someone is truly hurt or offended and asks for a defense, then fine. Go to the mods. Let the mods warn the people a couple of times to simmer down and then maybe you act.

If two guys are going at it, so be it.

It is their GNT, not them hijacking another. In fact, just a couple weeks ago the mods tried to lock a caps-rangers GNT. THAT is hijacking a thread if you ask me.

lol...If you remember my message to you, it was going to be a topic of discussion after the NHL playoffs have completed, not just the Capitals playoffs.

Keep the faith buckaroo, the Flyers did it last season to the Bruins, maybe the Caps can rebound as well.

define "far to far". we have made one banning decision not related to spamming or trolling in many months. The thread lock was an admitted mistake.

In my experience as a resident and community adviser, you have to be strict even with folks who almost never give you trouble. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile. This year, I've been relaxed on proper lounge use rules and it's resulted in a pretty filthy space and a couple broken lights. On noise, drug, alcohol, and other behavioral issues, I've been very strict, and it's resulted in conduct incidents only occasionally happening. They know what they can and cannot do with me on duty, and they know I'll be a fun guy if they behave themselves, and they behave as a result.

I read the thread, and the argument in question was petty and unnecessary and broke up the actual hockey talk of the thread. Those aren't the sorts of things that we can have on this forum without sacrificing its integrity, in my opinion.

Besides, the mods have done an excellent job so far, and I think we can all agree on that. I think it's safe to trust their judgment on these sorts of issues.
