I don't necessarily think he's a HOF goalie. He earned two Cup wins, and had a Conn Smythe worthy performance in a 7 game Cup loss. He bounced around on some crappy teams and didn't do much for them, but the Blues and Islanders were pretty hopeless during those years. He's been streaky during his career, but his playoff performances redeem him in my mind. HOF? Debatable, but probably not. If Detroit wins the Cup in '09, Osgood gets the Conn Smythe and probably an automatic bid in the HOF. So it's not like it's far fetched.

I just think there are other players and goalies on Osgood's level who haven't got in yet, he's borderline but I say no.

But to all the fools who claim he's some sort of big piece of shit propped up by a good team, ha. Suck the rings.

Here's the thing, though...If he retires after the 2008 Wings Cup, I think he's definitely in. These last two seasons have really hurt his chances with the voting committee.

Yeah, big piece of shit is a little harsh. He's more like a meal at Olive Garden. He's certainly not McDonald's. He's not Burger King. But he's not Bennihana, either.

I don't know, he had a lackluster 2008-2009 regular season but in the '09 playoffs he was a complete beast.

I always respected Osgood, but when I see 399 wins for him it screams compiler. He's not the only one (so I'm not picking on him), but I still don't think it gets him a HoF nod.
