Osborne turns down BTN spring game coverage??

Now this I just don't get. He said that it would hurt attendance, which can hurt the atmosphere for recruiting.

Epic fail. People are gonna pack the house whether it's on TV or not. The exposure is invaluable for recruiting.

I'm not one to question TO, but this was a poor decision.

I don't really care whether the game is covered or not, but I don't see where it hurts recruiting though. We need to take advantage of the press coverage that is going to be upon us in entering into the new conference

I just don't get too excited over watching the Spring game anyways............so it's not a big deal to me. I like to actually go to the game just for the atmosphere inside and outside of the stadium, because it reminds me of a real gameday. But seriously when I listen to the Spring game on the radio I just about fall asleep...

It will be interesting to see what they do next year. Technically Nebraska is not in the conference until July so the conference can't mandate the television coverage of the spring game. I would think once we are in conference, they will be televised regardless of what TO and Pelini want.

If the game will be mandated television coverage once we officially join the conference, I think TO should of just let them cover this one, unless there would be something we would have to get Big XII approval for.......

Very astute observation there. Hadn't thought about the fact it's not official Big Ten inventory until after July. That would explain alot.

Pelini will never allow a spring game to be on TV. ESPN/NFL network have all tried to get it on TV. So don't get your hopes up next year.

THere's no down-side to airing the spring game on BTN. Dumb decision on Tom's part. (Even though it was prolly Bo's paranoid idea not to air it.)
