Sorry, Mamba but it's true: Oregon is the LSU of the PAC 12 and I'm tired if your comrades making light of the USC sanctions. Anytime a Trojan fan talks about fairness, there is an Oregon homer, talking about how we are whining. USC got fucked, period. Alabama fans, Ohio state fans, they agree that we were jobbed. All I'm saying is, stop the bs with us being martyrs. In a couple of years, USC will take the thrown back but not without a fight from the Ducks.

USC just needs a good coaching hire... They can't let another shitty hire further UCLA's momentum they've gained in recruiting California...

Make Garrett is exactly what USC needs right now, not that pussy haven Pat Haden. Fair minded my ass.

Garrett would show the NZZA some booty love, with his foot in their ass with a huge ass lawsuit.

Oregon has become a power independent of USC. I have no ill-will towards the Trojans, but you are going to need a whole hell of a lot of things to go exactly right over the next several years to get to where Oregon is. They are taking decent recruits and making them studs, and turning elite recruits into national household names. They shuffle coaches and don't miss a beat. USC can't say that.

Considering LSU has more national championships in the last 15 years then USC I would say that is a compliment.

There is a point here honestly.

When a traditional dominant superpower is down, the other teams need to take advantage.
Although LSU is probably not the best example.
They did win two titles during the Bama down years.

USC is the superpower of the PAC 12.
USC will be the superpower of the PAC 12 again.
It is not a matter of IF. It is a matter of WHEN.
If Oregon does not break through, you could make an argument about "wasting their opportunity."
Oregon might kick themselves in a few years when the Trojans are reborn.

The same thing was true in the ACC
Florida State and Miami were down.
But, neither Clemson nor Virginia Tech could totally seize the opportunity.

The same thing seems true now in the Big 12
Texas and Oklahoma have been vulnerable for a few seasons now.
But, no Big 12 team has stepped up and made the most of it.

Yeah, possibly. But then again, most of the PAC great players come from Cali. Once USC is free to seek out it's own, they will come to SC. Oregon will still be a player but the other schools, not so much.

LSU was the wrong school to link in this argument.

LSU might have possibly benefitted from the down cycle of Alabama, but they sort of established their own identity as well.
Plus, Louisiana has its own fertile and deep recruiting pool.
They don't seem to be relegated to a secondary status with the Tide return to dominance.

Virginia Tech is a far better example.
It seemed like every season they would run through the ACC and be in the BCS for them.
But, you always got the impression they were merely keeping the seat warm.
You knew deep down that FSU and Miami (FL) would not be down forever.
Nobody ever truly embraced them as the permanent ACC college football powerhouse.
They were like an interim coach.

I don't think Oregon will go backwards.
They have built too much momentum.
I think they will be more like LSU.
They will still be good even when USC is back.

:agree: A lot of folks don't realize that Oregon was "quietly" building this program, even during the Pete Carroll era. They were just building the program in USC's shadow, so many don't remember or realize that Oregon was also putting together some very good teams during that time.

It had them positioned so that when we hit the downtime, they were the PAC team that was best prepared to take advantage.
