Interesting matchup between two potent offenses with amazing QBs with two different strengths. Ohio State's running game is among the elite of the elite, but Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins will be the toughest QB-WR duo OSU has faced this season. Neither defense is anything to write home about, so this could end up being a pretty high-scoring affair, with NFL auditions being on the line for several players on both teams.

That is an excellent point. This is The Game for both programs this season. Last time Ohio State beat a Top 19 team (either Top 19 on gameday OR in final poll) was when they beat Wisconsin in 2011 (Wisky was ranked #12 on gameday, #10 in final poll...they were Big Ten Champions and lost to Oregon in the Rose Bowl)

this is Ohio State's first Orange Bowl in a generation. Their last Orange Bowl was when #11 Ohio State beat #12 Colorado 27-10 on Jan. 1, 1977 at the end of the 1976 season.....37 years ago

That 1977 Orange Bowl was the only time Ohio State has played in the Orange Bowl before now. It was the 5th and final Bowl win for legendary Ohio State coach Woody Hayes.

For the 1st time, Ohio State played in a Bowl game other than the Rose Bowl, Woody Hayes and company met up with Big Eight champion Colorado, coached by Bill Mallory, an assistant under Hayes from 1966-68.
