Game Thread: Opening Night

We missed PG last night but most likely would have still beat you by 10 if he and Kuz played.

I don't know. I think they'd have Kuz off the bench or Green. That would cut into the Clips bench advantage.

On the other hand, PG cuts into the Lakers starter advantage.

Always hard to speculate because they can effect the game in a lot of ways.

Kuz plays last night and no PG. I think the Lakers win a close one.

Everybody healthy on both sides? I think the Clips win by 5-6.

It'll have virtually zero effect on the Lakers in Los Angeles.

But on Lebron...yeah, it'll have a big effect.

Assuming no title....I think most Lakers fans will, at the least, appreciate what he tried to do and that he made them relevant again. After the past 6 years, it's nice to go into a season with a real shot at having at least a deep playoff run.

But he will never be mentioned in that group of guys like Magic, Kareem, Kobe, Shaq, etc.

Same.

The Lakers are like the Yankees.

Doesn't matter what the JR. Team accomplishes.

It's still all about them.

I think the Raiders fall into the category too.

Rams, Charges will never supplant them.

Probably not even when they move to Vegas.

As for Mr. James.......

LeBron is kinda like Shaq in Miami......kinda Shaq in LA too.

Hell of a career, still a force.

But, won't ever be embraced like Wade or Kobe.

I want the Cavs to win but if they lose thats fine too.

Goals this year:

1. Develop the young kids--- Sexton, Garland, Windlar, Porter Jr., Osman (sort of a kid);

2. Keep your top 10 protected lotto pick- this is CRUCIAL;

3. Get assets for expiring contracts and useful rotation players like Clarkson, Knight, Thompson, Delly, Henson;

4. Have Beilen establish his system and adjust to the NBA game; and

5. Keep an open mind on Kevin Love- see how much value he has to the young guys- as a leader, drawing attention away from them on offense, etc. If someone blows you away with an offer- make a deal- if not- do not force it. His game should age well.

Pretty much the same goals I would have. Keys being developing the young talent and get assets for those expiring contracts. If they win, they win...it just means they are ahead of schedule but the worst thing they can do is be in the 11-15 range.

Yeah, healthy rosters is really all I want to see for both of these squads. It's kind of sad the Warriors didn't have their same healthy squad of last year. It would have been INCREDIBLE to see the level of competition this year between these teams.

But the Clips are just gonna be dangerous with Lou and Trez off the bench.

Man, Lou Williams is just an absolute monster. Where did he go to college?

i have been just hit so hard at work lately. I mostly do tax and m&a work and a little estate planning. They have got me doing a lot more commercial loan work lately and i just have had no exposure to it. Def. been a steep learning curve trying to figure out what the hell is going on.

Yeah, I think the Clips have the best bench in the league. That's going to allow Kawhi and PG to take about 20 games off each.

I don't think the Lakers can allow more than 10-12 for Lebron and AD.

I'm not sure your Warriors can have Steph and Draymond miss more than a couple.
