Opening Day Roster

i'm not excited... in every game i attended last year (20+) the giants were the oldest and the slowest. i don't see the '17 roster improving on this.

This could be one of the slowest teams in recent memory, that is for sure.

But the age thing isn't much of a problem, IMHO. Our top 2 prospects will be kicking in the door at some point this year, probably, so that should help there. We also have a rookie opening day starter, with another rookie OFer knocking on the door.

Shulman has been tweeting about the possibility of Toronto shipping us Melvin Upton for a bag of BP balls and some ABC gum, while they still pay the bulk of his remaining contract (they are on the hook for approx 4M).

My question is, why? He has some pop, and he knows how to run, but he can't hit to save his life. I would rather have Gorkys. He is 5 years younger, so his defense will be much more predictable. And while his history does not say he can hit, last year he was fine with the stick.
