This sure looks like the Sox lineup for Opening Day

Now if Renteria wants to put a little less pressure on Robert for the first game at least, this could be an alternative:

5. Yasmani Grandal, C
6. Eloy Jiménez, LF

8. Luis Robert, CF

But I like the lineup from the article more.

Robert's Home run falling down yesterday - was just pure classic White Sox history. I think he will be fine. I hope Moncada has not lingering effects of his condition and gets back into the lineup.

Still this lineup above looks decent from an offensive point of view. Mendick certainly has double digit HR pop - and has performed well defensively.

I loved that dinger. That may be a first....a player falls down at the batter's box, yet drives one yard. Like you said, classic.

It's possible that as long as Moncada is released from the injured list by opening day, he could very well be available for PH duties. Let's keep our fingers crossed for that.

An early aspect of Summer Camp, I find interesting, is that Sox pitchers and hitters have to sharpen their games against each other. Even in Spring Training there isn't a lot of inter-squad action. This could bring teams closer together (or drive them apart).

Cease is actually doing what Giolito did last year. Instead of using the fast ball to set up the breaking stuff - he is going to use his breaking stuff to set up his fast ball.

I hope Mazara doesn't have COVID. I really don't want to see Adam freakin Engel out there for us. Contending baseball teams don't have Adam Engel in their every day lineup.

I suppose they could stick Leury in RF and Madrigal at 2B. I wonder where Moncada slides in.

Didn't they show a few shots of him in the dugout on that first game with the Cubs? One would think if he tested positive, he would be on the injured list and not allowed in the dugout. So until further notice, it's fair to assume that he really is just ailing in general, and hope he'll be suited up on Opening Day. In the meantime, I have zero problems with Engel filling in for him, altho I'd put him in center and move Robert, with his stronger throwing arm, over to right.

A very impressive lineup to be sure. Me likey lots. As for Moncada batting 2nd due to being the best all around hitter, I agree. It has become almost universally accepted now that a team's best hitter should bat in the 2 hole. But as a kid growing up and pretty much thru the majority of my adulthood, the #3 spot was generally given to the team's best all around hitter. Somewhere along the line that train of thought has changed. No argument from me, more just an observation.

Just looking at that lineup: We have a lot of likeable players that you want to do well and are excited to watch. That's nice considering most of them are with us long-term now. 2 more days...My body is ready to love these White Sox. ('cept you Kopech. You need to re-earn the love that I had considered giving you had you actually done something to this point...)
