Depends on what you hear. A lot of talk around the league is Weber has told Poile flat out he wants to win a Cup and doesn't think Nashville can do that, so talks have stalled.

Well, they just had their deepest run in the playoffs in franchise history, so I find the kind of talk pretty puzzling. They have a top-3 goalie in the league and strong defense, they just need some more punch up front.

Love how in a lot of articles on this move I have been reading, the main headline is "Leafs aquire Lombardi in trade". No disrespect to Matthew but I think they are missing the boat on the real asset of this deal. (Not Brett Lebda or Slaney wise asses)

I'd imagine Nashville wanted to get rid of Lombardi, and Toronto countered and asked for Fransen to sweeten up the deal so they weren't just taking on extra salary.
