Yeah, Mcdavid was pointless last night. He's a great player but he can't do it relatively alone. Who knows? Maybe Hall will end up back in Edmonton.
KHL bound. Doubt a team would touch him now.
Maybe the AMAHHOF*?If Kovalchuk doesn't spend 5 of his prime years in the KHL, he likely gets 500+ goals and over 1000 points for his NHL career. Those are likely hall of fame type numbers, but with all the baggage he carries around, I don't think he gets a sniff.
/He'll have to settle for the IIHF Hall of Fame
Maybe the AMAHHOF*?

Kings still stuck with his cap hit too, they just don't have to pay him.
HA HA
Seems a pretty convenient cap circumvention tool to "mutually agree" to term a contract. More convenient than LTIR, so it seems weird that it would work. "hey, we want you to quit, we'll pay you 30% of your contact to agree to term the rest of it".
I think Ilys's cap his stays as its an over 35 contract
I'm surprised that Ilya hasn't either tested positive for PEDs or charged with smuggling drugs into Mexico at this point. I mean, that's standard operating procedure for the Kings.

Thats not what’s happening... the player is walking away from money ... what you’re describing in bold would be a buyout ... which isn’t circumvention
Panthers hire Roberto Luongo as special adviser to GM | CBC SportsIf it's an official buyout. I was thinking more along the lines of "Look, there's a duffel bag in your hotel room. How'd that get there?" kind of shenanigans.
The player agrees to walk away from money and avoid the cap penalty for the team but somehow finds some money elsewhere. Consultant fees or no responsibility job.
