Totally honestly that was part of the reason Marchand was able to do this due to the five Penguins on the ice.
Truly the one player out there that would have taken the run at Marchand would have been Jarry.

relation here is when Steve Moore blindsided Markus Naslund, Brad May was RIGHT THERE.
He gave Moore a bit of a hug as Naslund was lying on the ice, with a concussion is setting in.
If he had kicked the shit out of Moore at the time, then the whole Bertuzzi thing never happens.

So, when mushmouth takes a shot at the goalie, someone needs to be on him immediately, and he
doesn't have the chance to try to spear the goalie in the face 5 seconds later.

point is, take care of shit at the moment. ESPECIALLY when some tags your star or your goalie.

A Dave Brown cross check to the teeth ala Tomas Sandstrom would have been great. I’d be glad with any Penguin sitting for 5 games if that would have happened

When Matt Cooke elbowed the Bruin and the entire Bruins bench just sat there. Nobody did a thing about it except cried to the reporters after the game. I told my buddies that that was a bad look for Boston and that the next time they play Boston has to be out for blood. They were.

There was just no strategy, or there was one and it didn't pan out although what that was I couldn't possibly imagine.

Now instead of dangling Tarasenko as a rental he's dangling Calle Jarnkrok. He'll get something for Gio but I can't imagine a team giving up much for him. McCann's really the only shiny object he can get anything back for. Just a terrible job.
