That was an ugly knee-on-knee hit - I hope Sandin isn't out long term, but that certainly did not look good. Also, I'm certainly not condoning Spezza's hit, but when the zebras fail to call a penalty, you have to know that something is going to happen.

Same ref as the playoff game when DeBrusk knee-on-kneed Marner, wasn't called for it and Kadri subsequently Kadri'd DeBrusk and missed the rest of the series.

If you don't call the book the players have no reason to keep following it. Spezza's hit was dirty (although i'm only 60-40 sure that he wanted to get him exactly how he did as Pionk was kinda going down at the time, he definitely wanted to hurt him and it's retaliatory) but he probably thought fuck it, I could use a week off and the refs are dicking us around for the second night in a row.
