In order to be a regular Stanley Cup contender, you need a true 1st line center and the Flames haven't had one since Joe Nieuwendyk. The Flames traded Nieuwy for Iggy and that was a great trade for both teams, but the Flames failure was not acquiring a top line center for Iggy (and no Craig Conroy doesn't count). Sean Monahan is a 2nd line center that has been put on the Flames top line because Brad Treliving hasn't been able to acquire anyone better during his seven years on the job. It's time for a new GM in Calgary.
