If, as Bieksa said, a knee is an instinctual thing that nobody ever does intentionally, why is it that the players that do it often seem to be the "dirty" players?

I can't remember ever kneeing another player like that in almost 40 years of play. I don't want to say that I'm certain it has never happened because while I have a damned good memory I have played a whole buncha games and I tend to remember goals more than penalties . But I can't recall ever doing it. Then again, my "instincts" didn't get me to the NHL and maybe that is why


(and I'm not saying that Edler specifically is "dirty", just that I suspect there is some general correlation/overlap)

I don't ever remember doing anything overly dirty in my years of playing hockey, but I was removed from the only game of lacrosse I ever played.

I'm not saying he needs to be thrown to the wolves or anything but that loss tonight is on Campbell. Both of those goals were bad in the same way.

They kicked their ass all night and came out of it with just one point. I'm not saying that they need to be 100% satisfied with their play but come on man.

I would have lost the cucumber farm on THAT one.

After a 2:30 shift, I think Edler was just wanting a rest.
He knew he was fucked if Hyman busted past him, had to get a piece.
No way he could make it back into the play if he got beat clean.
Kneeing isn't instinctual, but getting a piece, no matter what piece, certainly is.


Hope Hyman is rejuvenated with no ill effects.

The Leafs should have the division won but I expected them to get the 2 points. Holtby outplaying Campbell was the kick in the ass.
