interesting stuff on Chaykra to start out. That could get messy.

I like this tidbit though

10. One NHL exec and I have been joking with each other about how many players were reported to have shown up in great shape or looked dynamite in practices/scrimmages. Everyone’s excited to be back (even reporters), so enthusiasm reigns. That’s not a bad thing after months of crappy news. But if there was one player who seemed to particularly benefit from a rest, the name I heard a bit more than others was Vancouver’s Quin Hughes

Penguins are looking good enough in this game to win the first overall pick.

My ass it was.

/They're totally getting Lafreniere.
Seriously we kid around about this but I have a funny feeling either Pittsburgh, Chicago or Edmonton is getting that first pick.

Chicago was a pretty bad team so I guess I'd be OK with that.

The other two can get fucked though.

Yeah this season but that is just a small sample size and magically were able to get some bad contracts off their books.

I mean it's all ridiculous but at least the Hawks were not really a playoff team. There is no way that any of this ends up making any sense but the Pens or Oilers getting Lafreniere would be a stain on the league for decades.

Very true and it would look bad if either the other two get that pick because we all know there is nothing random about the draft lottery.

Didn't think I'd be this excited for a Canucks pre season game

Nothing will come of it but it's definitely a valid concern.

Problem with this complaint is that the odds are only 12.5% AFTER the first lottery.
Odds were much closer to traditional 11th place team at the outset of the lottery process.
