Lol ... cap recapture rules have changed. ... teams wont be punished going forward. Canucks still on hook for luongos cap penalty ... thats fair
Parise ... no 19.37 shmill cap hit if he retires in 2 years
It’s pretty annoying that they’re a) keeping a hard cap and b) not making it flexible based on income taxes.
So that means the either the Panthers, Lightning, Stars(fuck Dallas), Golden Knights, Thrashers or the Seattle whatevers should win most of the Cups in the foreseeable future. Makes wagering easier therefore I am in favor. Just barely. It’s pretty annoying that they’re a) keeping a hard cap and b) not making it flexible based on income taxes.

Meh, they never really deserved that since that was a Philly offer sheet that they matched to keep one of their few good players (at the time). They were forced into it, unlike Vancouver or NJ or Minny etc. who all pulled straight up circumvention. So the Preds won't be royally fucked if Weber hangs it up?
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
What sucks about Minnesota getting away with it is those two contracts led directly to the last lockout. They should be punished for that shit.Meh, they never really deserved that since that was a Philly offer sheet that they matched to keep one of their few good players (at the time). Think Dallas could use a second team? What sucks about Minnesota getting away with it is those two contracts led directly to the last lockout. They should be punished for that shit.

gonna call bullshit on that one.Meh, they never really deserved that since that was a Philly offer sheet that they matched to keep one of their few good players (at the time). They were forced into it, unlike Vancouver or NJ or Minny etc. who all pulled straight up circumvention.
It’s funny so long as it isn’t happening to your team.gonna call bullshit on that one.
that contract was approved by the league when presented.
for them to change the rules AFTER THE FACT and continue to punish one team is fucked.
now that they are changing the rule because it either
1. was bullshit anyway or
2. a team was potentially not going to be able to field a team because of it or
3. it was easily circumvented by LTIR, unless one team has an advantage to retire a guy and pay him for a "management role" to fuck another team over
and have a chance to limit the damage on that the one team is still facing.... and they just say. nope, fuck them. everyone else is ok, but fuck those guys specifically over there.
Yeah that’s a terrible hire. Not thrilled if true. Laviolette and Gallant are far better options. Unless they just didn't want the gig.
