He certainly was, but I think aside from the cocaine, if memory serves, he was also popped for taking drugs to slow down his heart rate (which obviously is something that would be advantageous when playing snooker).
Interesting tidbit about snooker. It was the first professional sport to have an official drug testing policy.

Will agree and add Theo Fleury

Based on his career numbers, Theo is a Hall of Famer. I think the committee just has a tough time seeing past the nose candy and alcohol abuse (although we all know the demons he has battled since his teenage years). It would probably help if the Flames put his jersey in the rafters which is long overdue.

It truly is a mystery (and while we're on the topic, how is the #2 of Al Macinnis not in the rafters at Scotiabank Saddledome?) The only thing I can think is that Theo has rubbed Flames ownership the wrong way with some of his comments (he doesn't have much of a filter) and these guys have long memories.

Edit: I forgot that Al Macinnis was honored with the lame "Forever a Flame" back in 2018 which means his jersey won't be retired. Chopper is more of a St. Louis Blue these days, but his time with the Flames warranted a jersey retirement, in my opinion.

Funny, I have the same feelings towards Matt Cooke and Kris Letang.

Most of the Flames today I don't have any problems with, but those late 80s early 90s teams I hated. For the life of me I can't remember why either.:noidea:

I liked them in the regular season, but aside from '89, they fell apart in the playoffs. But hey, you first got Badger Bob Johnson and then Joe Mullen from the Flames, two pretty important components for the 1991 run to the Cup.

All true, IIRC.

He was one of the first to get busted for Beta Blockers. They were definitely a PED for snooker players.

As an aside they never tested for them on the PGA Tour in the 90s and from my experience with high end amateur golf / NCAA golf they were rampant among touring pros during that time.

Kevin Lowe and Doug Wilson don’t scream hall of famer to me. Especially Kevin Lowe. If this is the direction things are headed then Al Iafrate and Ulf Samuelson are next.
