Just gonna say here that I'll be very surprised if Landeskog is still on the Avs' roster come September. Think of all the guys the Avs might dangle he's in most need of a fresh start.

I remember thinking how silly this whole thing was. I think Mike Yeo is a solid coach but why bring back Hitch for this season? The players know he's a lame duck, his assistants know he's a lame duck. It's a clusterfuck waiting to happen. And now it's happened.

Only guy who may not have seen this coming is Armstrong. Which would concern me if I owned the Blues.

Just saw Armstrong's crying at the press conference and going on about his players being "independent contractors" not a team and how there was only one HOF'er in that room as of yesterday and it was Hitch.

If he feels that strongly about Hitch as a person, if this was that tough to fire a friend (whose "agreed" replacement has been sharing the bench with him all year, of course), why is it that Armstrong didn't make a trade before doing this? Why didn't he try and show the team that they had better play for the coach because the coaching change wasn't coming early? Threaten the room that he'll start trading guys to Edmonton if they didn't shape up? Christ, if Hitch didn't come in and turn shit around 5 years ago Armstrong would've been a short-tenured GM. He takes his team to the conference finals and rewards him with an awkward coaching situation and a goalie who can't stop a beach ball and then dumps him in January with the team still in a playoff spot?

Good luck, Yeo. Your boss just showed the world he bows to panic and pressure with the best of them.

If I recall, he was pretty good for the Devils for a few games, but obviously he couldn't sustain that level of play. I can't believe Gazdic has lasted this long in the league, what a plug.

Unless some team really want to pay a premium, I don't think the Avs trade either Landycakes or Duchene until closer to the entry draft (if not on the actual day). You know, just so Gary can say "I think you going to want to hear this".
