I see the Wild won again and now sit at 69 points. The 90-91 North Stars finished the season with 68 points and made it to game 6 of the Finals so might as well plan the parade now. Unless the parade plans in Toronto and DC take precedence that is.

League took the shot away from them lol

Goose egg!

So, Gretzky was right. You DO miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

I know there are a lotta fans of the Wiz on here

He's been practicing with the U18 AAA Blue Jackets who are on the ice directly after my son's High School team every Tuesday, and I've talked to him a few times. He said the KHL was not ideal and he was just trying to find somewhere. He mentioned last week that he might have something. Just wants to play hockey as long as he can. Him and the family are staying in Columbus when he's done.

Good luck Wiz.

Oh, also - David Clarkson has been on the ice with another High School team who is on before my Son's team Monday and Tuesday. In sweats. He is coaching them.

I heard that last night, and the way the Jackets broadcast cut to Murray's reaction shot just after the words were said, I just assumed he said it to the ref.

Judging by how badly the refs fucked the Jackets last night, I at least know which color jersey the player it was directed at was wearing...

edit: looks like Hartnell. Lol. Love Hartsy.

Does the league suspend refs?

Sabres had three different video reviews go against them last night where they were ruled inconclusive so the call on the ice stands.

That's tough in a 4-3 loss.

As frustrating a season that this has been for the Flames, they are currently in a wild card spot (although they have played three more games than LA and two more than Vancouver). This by no means is me saying that they should be a buyer at the deadline, they should just stand pat or even sell some assets (fire Wideman into the sun for starters).

Yeah, the Sabres got jobbed twice last night. That 4-4 goal should have counted.

I keep seeing stuff about Vrbata's bonuses possibly affecting a trade.

Can't the Coyotes just retain salary so that when the bonuses do kick in they become palatable to any team trading for him?

By the way, I only just found out it happened now but the Habs picking up Nesterov is a great bit of work by Bergevin.

I'll double check but I believe that the bonuses are too large in relation to his salary to work around it like this.

I tend to agree with you, but why are a the Lightning giving up on a 23 year-old cheap D-Man? Ie. what do they know that we don't?

My guess is they couldn't "offend" Coburn or Garrison and didn't have much lineup room for Nesterov anymore so it was either AHL (and lose him on waivers likely for nothing) or trade.
