LOL - I wish. For lots of folks it will just provide more motivation to get back to the casino. Again - a lot of the casinos are just across the street so it will only take minutes to get back there. BTW - you are making a pretty big assumption that fans at NHL games won't be drinking.

And another big assumption that there wont be gambling inside the arena. If you want to call slot machines "gambling".

And that the comp tickets are for anything other than to announce attendance figures and declare success.

And that ticket holders will stay past the first period.

To get somewhat back on topic, the NHL expansion draft means that the Las Vegas Black Knights are going to have a pretty good team right off the hop. They'll likely not make the playoffs in their first season, but they're going to be competitive which should keep interest quite high in the desert.

I wonder what the early odds are on them finishing ahead of the Oilers in their first season.

Lots of questionable assumptions in this thread. Sure - there are some folks that park themselves at a table 24x7 & don't do much else. However - there are lots of folks in Vegas that spend lots of time elsewhere & some that don't even gamble. There are a lot of other things to do in that city. They spend time eating, watching shows, visiting attractions, going on excursions, etc - that is part of the appeal.

As mentioned above - there will also be forms of gambling in the arena & lots of drinking. I don't quite buy some of the negatives being presented in this thread.

there lots of things to do and another big thing to do is going to be added in the NHL team. I guess I can only speak from my perspective and say in the future I will visit vegas , I will probably go see a game ... at the expense of probably not doing something I did before ... thats why i go back and say not all the casinos are going to be buying blocks of these tickets

I may miss a few, but I think MGM owns Bellagio, Aria (part owners I think), Luxor, Excalibur, Mandalay Bay, Mirage, New York New York, and MGM Grand (obviously), so they own half the strip anyhow, and would be essentially funneling them off to a facility that they're 50/50 owners of already.

I hope Carrot Top can survive this !!!

again it must be from my perspective because if i drank at the arena like i was drinking in and outside the casinos on the strip beforehand, Ill probably be going to the hospital to get my stomach pumped post game

You need to tough it out, drink a few Red Bulls & head back to the tables - j/k.

I think they could have a decent D corps but I think they're gonna be fugly up front. I'm gonna try to put together a roster right now... check back in about 2 hours. LOL..
