By the way, the Blues have offered Tony X free tickets to game 3.

I can't be the only one who is annoyed that game 1 of Isles vs TB will be over - barring a record breaking OT of course - before game 7 of Ducks vs Press, can I?

Yeah, they should have moved the Islanders/Lightning game to tomorrow as to not overlap playoff rounds.

They should have started the Ducks-Preds game 7 at 12pm EST to avoid an overlap.

I'm pretty sure the figure skaters have the ice booked until early afternoon so they can't.

Comes with a $1.8 mil buyout cap hit until 2022. Honestly not as bad as I thought but for a team with needs and some pretty important players to sign who will be asking for big raises that could be tough to swallow.

I wonder if Steve Simmons wants him back in Toronto.

Proven leaders are hard to come by.

Man, I think about just how much tougher this teardown would've been had Nonis actually been successful in re-signing him. That's a truly terrifying thought.

I doublechecked and there's no need to worry, Shawn Thornton is locked up for next year too.

You and I have discussed this under different circumstances but yes, retaining even a million or two for an extended period can end up causing a real problem for a team.

It's a little different when you're getting something in return, though.

Although you can argue the extreme benefit of not having David Bolland on your team.

I love the playoffs. Luckily you cheer for just the team to keep your playoff experience as short as possible.
You must be equally crushed that your team can only provide you an extra week and a half worth of hockey every couple years. I'm sure once my team gets back to the postseason they'll resume kicking your team's asses back down the 401 every spring as is the time-honoured tradition.

There are just so many better things to do on evenings in June than be cooped up inside watching TV. Can't waste the good weather in these parts.
