guess that answers my question of whether I need to watch the game.
maybe this pushes them to send McCann to the WJHC
full tank mode. do it.

#CBJ have not put in a claim on Khudobin

@Twatwaffle - rumors swirling that the Blue Jackets were not involved in the Gretzky trade.

Yeah, don't take anything from the Pens broadcast seriously. There are two clowns running that show. People were angry in the arena, but it was a clean hit. Now, the penalty afterwards was dumb, seeing as Dumolin did pretty much nothing.

I want to punch Mike Lange for the legacy of massive suckitude he has brought to broadcasting.

A protege of his, Bob McElligot, is the Jackets radio guy. On Hartnell's goal tonight he called out, and I swear I am not making this up, "It's as good as snuff but not half as dusty".

This is the same guy who is constantly yelling about flapjacks on a ferris wheel.

Another Torts benching of RyJo tonight? Not a single shift in period 3.

Hey now...Lange is a pro at least, unlike the TV buffoons. And his catch phrases while silly have stories for the most part...or alliteration. That one you just said...well...I have nothing. Snuff? Like...chew?

Trevor Daley probably will quickly piss me off...but I'm still enjoying this.

Also, I've never been so amused watching people try to justify this trade from their end, outside of cap space. Celebrate cap space, by all means...but dear god stop saying "two time cup winner". That means absolutely nothing in regards to Robert Scuderi and his abilities in 2015s NHL at the age of (weeks away from) 37. Gosh, I just did a Google search to check his age and the first article that popped up was "Blackhawks get more championship experience." HAVE ANY OF YOU ACTUALLY WATCHED HIM PLAY?! Tonight's broadcast "the numbers don't tell you what Scuderi can do"...no, my eyes do. Home broadcast, I get it, but man the NHL freaking overvalues veteran tenacity still. TRUCULENCE.

Edit: article I referred to, which is...uhh...something.
Rob Scuderi provides Blackhawks with even more championship experience
Some of that is saying the right thing publicly, but man...again, overvalue experience vs ability. It's rampant.

Rumor has it Johansen was forced to sit in a bathroom stall during the meeting.

no. Lange is awful. flat out awful. play calling OK, but those stupid goal calls are just dumb.
Doc Emrick is awful too, for that matter. unlistenable.

They've really just become his calling card like every other guy who sticks in one region for decades. People come to expect them and associate them with memories. Now, if you want annoying Pittsburgh broadcasters with kitschy catch phrases, let me introduce you to Myron Cope... Lange is just the voice I associate with the Pens growing up. Low, good radio voice, does his home work, respects other teams abilities, calls good play by play (he's struggling more these days, age is catching him). Basically he's everything Paul Steigerwald isn't. I get people not liking the calls, but when it's your team it's part of memories, yadda yadda.

I don't think I've ever seen a hole get dug as quickly as Columbus has dug one this season. I would call it Edmontonian but even Edmonton wasn't crazy enough to hire Torts.

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere but saw this and couldn't help but thank god that Shanahan showed up here when he did:

Florida Panthers send Dave Bolland to AHL - Sportsnet.ca

He's been consistently generating opportunities and it must hurt widdle Brando Dubi's feewings, so big Daddy got rid of da mean mean man child so duby could be happy.

And people say Torts doesn't care about his players.

30 minute players only meeting for the Jackets after the game against the Stars tonight.

Foligno: Alright we're at five games straight lost. We need to-
Tyutin: YES! HIGH FIVE
Foligno: Wait, what?
Tyutin: Only two more losses and maybe another coach will get fired!
Team stands up (Minus Dubinsky): YEAH!
Foligno: No, that's not what-
Dubinsky: YOU STOP SAYING MEAN THINGS ABOUT MY DADDY!

And their defense is better.

You'll recall that Nonis tried hard to sign him. We were just lucky that Dale Tallon was a little bit more foolish.

Thus why I mentioned Shanahan - likely limited Nonis' budget for glorified third liners so that he was out of the running quickly.
