True North Strong and Free?

League and player sources have confirmed that Jets captain Andrew Ladd has asked for a six-year deal worth at least $41 million, that defenceman Dustin Byfuglien has requested $55 million over eight years and that defenceman Jacob Trouba wants more than $56 million over the maximum eight years allowed in the league’s CBA with its players.

Ladd, Byfuglien, Trouba asking Jets for $152M in contracts

I don't see how Hamonic doesn't end up in Winnipeg for Trouba, it's where he wants to be and Garth Snow gets a fine defenseman in Trouba that he will have to pay to keep in Brooklyn.

IMO, only guy worth those numbers is Buff. Let Ladd walk (if Winnipeg are in a playoff race, otherwise trade him) and either move Trouba for Hamonic like you said or trade his rights at the draft.

Honestly that is a steal getting Daley for 1/3 of Scuderi's salary. If not they would have been eating the whole thing here in a few weeks when he would have eventually been waived.

I haven't laughed that hard at a NHL transaction since the Engelland signing where I thought the dollar amount was for 3 years and not per season.

The Force must have been awoken because that is some Jedi mind trick type trade.

Some GM's must think if ex-Penguin d-men worked for the Capitals it must work for all teams? :noidea:

Maybe the Pens want Engelland back?

Don't laugh there are some fans that would want him back because this team needs "grit".

I mean, there is no defending the amount of money the Flames signed him for a year and a half ago, but he's been pretty solid for the Flames (put it this way, the team has bigger problems than Deryk).
