Gonna take this opportunity to point out that Johnson Gaudreau is the second-highest scoring American at the moment and he is ineligible to play for the US at the World Cup because Bettman.

And relatedly, I need to take back all the shit I've said about the Oilers picking Draisaitl over Bennett.

I hate trading with the Leafs because it usually turns out horribly for the Flames, but I wonder if BT could pluck that Bernier guy. Flames just need average goaltending (like they got last year).

PITTSBURGH — The first Penguins practice of the Mike Sullivan era began with a nod toward Sullivan’s longtime running mate and boss in John Tortorella: with push-ups.

The attentive, 50-minute skate kicked off with the losing team of 3-on-3 drills crouching to the ice for Army-style discipline.

Dis gonna b gud.

Despite Bernier's struggles, I still think if any goalie gets moved it'll be Reimer. Pending UFA and little chance he's re-signed.

And playing behind Calgary's defence, I think he has a shot of staying pretty solid. Could see a move for him and a forward for Calgary's second rounder and a lower pick/prospect happening.

Looked to me like 4th assist.
He gained the zone, but unless I missed another touch, there were a bunch of passes before the goal
Couldn't be bothered to rewind and double check though

I watched the game last night, Kane passed the puck to Panarin whose slapper hit the post - The puck came straight back to Panarin (without a Canuck player touching it) and he had it for almost 8 seconds before finding Keith who beat Miller. I don't think the post negates an assist, so I think the right call was made.

No way the NHL salary cap is up to 74.5 million next season if the Canadian dollar drops below 70 cents US.
Basically the inflator would be the instrument used to get it to that level. Without the inflator, the cap likely remains stagnant and neither the owners nor the players really want that.

Good luck with that one. Took the country over a decade to get rid of daddy.
Trudeau managed to give the appearance of being a lefty during the campaign. Once those who voted for him realize his party leans more right-ward than left followed by his being unable to delivery on 80% of what he promised, they'll flock back to the orange nutbars and at the very least Junior will lose his majority.
