Couldn't care less that the Leafs are racking up points, that was a fun game to watch.

Maybe its because the Leafs blew a 4-1 lead and still managed to win.

I want Nashville to get in and win the cup.

Bettman will have an aneurysm, Pekka will hoist the chalice and Johansen can yell "fuck you" to Tortorella and the bald Finnish fuckwit.

I would like to see the Preds sneak ahead of CHI. I like NSH chances against STL much more than against LAK (likely Pacific champ).

And a first round CHI-LAK would be fantastic !
Watching NSH play at home is fun hockey. I'd love to catch a game in Nashville.

It guarantees one of those teams being gone in the first round...so I'm all for it.

You can be or remain tied for the final playoff spot. The Flyers have it on the tie-breaker. They remain tied in points, but they own the 8th playoff spot for the time being.

Gudas has turned his season -- maybe his career -- around after the stint of questionable and stupid penalties. Somebody must have spoken to him, and he's been great ever since.

This is a great run the Flyers are on. It's always good to see your team show that kind of fight and character. They're still plagued by late-game meltdowns, especially when the other team pulls their goalie, but they've still won more than their fair share of games.

If this team makes the playoffs, it will be dangerous. I don't care if it's the Penguins, Caps, or Bolts -- they can all get ousted in the first round, as is their tradition.

Is it just me or is the league wide open this year? Sure Washington's 1st overall but I don't see it with them. If you ask me the Blues might be a team to watch.

Agree it is wide open. Every team has had their ups and downs. I think, as always, it will come down to goaltending. At least, until Matthews teams up with McJesus in the Oil Patch next year and it wont matter if they put @forty_three in net.

Right now, i would group the teams into one of 3 categories:

I would not be surprised if they won: WAS, NYR, CHI, LAK,
Sure they could if the matchups break and their goalie is solid: FLA, TPA, PIT, NSH, STL, ANA
Need to catch lightning: DET/PHA, NYI, BOS, SJS, DAL, MIN

Maybe I move DAL up, but :noidea:

I dunno, the Blues have done zero in past playoffs to earn my faith...every year for the past three or four pundits are high on them, but they simply can't beat Chicago or LA. Frankly no one in the West can since, what, 2010? Well, Vancouver did...but that's obviously a very different team now. Out West I need to see a non-LA/CHI take down one of the aforementioned before really believing they have a shot. But overall I agree...it's Washington, a big step off, then everyone else. And the Caps have to exorcise demons and get to the ECF at the verrrrry least.

Well, we can add Antoine Roussel to the list of hair pullers in the NHL.

To add to what I said yesterday Pittsburgh's looking good all of a sudden as well. They get Malkin back for the playoffs no reason they can't do something.

Only one team seems fired up in the battle of "the trade". Columbus in Nashville.

Ten minutes in, Preds are out shooting the Jackets 15-1 and are up 1-0.
