i think Tampa trades Stamkos' rights at the draft. Think Yzerman keeps him around for the playoff run (However brief it may be for Tampa this year.)

Trouble is, they get almost nothing for him at that point. Like a conditional 7th rounder. Might as well let him walk as UFA, then at least you can tell the 23 fans in TB that you tried to sign him right up to the last minute.

Yzerman statement:

“As February 29th approaches, I am stating today that Steven Stamkos will not be traded before the NHL’s trade deadline. I have said repeatedly that it is our hope to reach an agreement with Steven on a new contract at some point, and with 27 games remaining in the season, our entire organization, Steven included, wants to focus on making the playoffs. I will keep the negotiating process strictly between the involved parties and have no further comment on the state of those negotiations"

Soooooo... 90% chance he gets traded?

^Seinfeld gif = guaranteed Dash thumbs up

You're alright, Dash. I don't care what BGDave and Higgy say.

For the record, I do not speak ill of teams (or their supporters) with the misfortune of having a sieve between the pipes :nono:

Ill drop some more knowledge on you ... for some reason, shes not a big fan of the C word ... :noidea:

Canada?

Why for ever not?

I will keep that in mind.

Last time I used the C word in "public" was in 3rd grade when I wrote it on a note I gave to another girl in class. I was trying to confirm class gossip and asked "did you really let Ronnie touch your C ?"

Mrs. Karstoff did not find my inquiry amusing :noidea:

I used to use it quite frequently but in an english accent ... "coont" ... my wifes aunt goes with "twat" so I am starting to use that more often now
